I received an eARC of this book from Netgalley for review.
So despite the fact that this is a QUEER RETELLING of my FAVORITE SHAKESPEARE PLAY (Much Ado About Nothing), I ended up DNFing this book at 45%. That’s not to say it isn’t good and wouldn’t be great for someone else. I think this particular case was a mix of a couple different factors. One, my schedule and brain are just not having it with the physical books/ebooks lately. I think I’ll try to get it on audio from my library (if we get it). Two, the pacing and I were not getting along. There’s quite a few flashbacks and frequent changes in perspective which just didn’t work for me right now.
I really do plan to try this again later. Maybe it’ll be a good summer read. It does take place at summer camp, after all. Plus, my schedule will get a little more relaxed partway through June, so hopefully I’ll have an easier time reading with my eyes (in case I can’t get it on audiobook).
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute, fluffy, drama-filled YA book.
