January Plan!

Here’s my first attempt at my new monthly plan template. šŸ˜‚ It will definitely be evolving as the months go by, but this works for now.

Reading challenges:

January Jam Jar + LateAThon:

I’m combining the Devour Your TBR challenge for this month (put all your TBR books in a “jam jar”) with the LateAThon hosted by Destiny. The following are books that I started but didn’t finish in 2018:

  • A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard
  • The Next Together by Lauren James
  • Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown
  • The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (actually started this in 2016 or 2017 but I really want to read it!)
  • To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
  • Dreadnought by April Daniels
  • The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo (reread)
  • Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers
  • A Princess in Theory by Alyssa Cole
  • Villains Don’t Date Heroes by Mia Archer
  • Backstagers vol. 1 by James Tynion IV, Rian Sygh, and Walter Baiamonte

I’ll also be adding these 5 titles to my January “Jar”. These were my picks from my larger TBR Jar.

  • Ebola by William T. Close
  • Fungi from Yuggoth and Other Poems by H. P. Lovecraft, illustrated by Frank Utpatel
  • Barbary Station by R. E. Stearns
  • Eclectic Wicca: A guide for the modern witch by Mandi See
  • The Fifth Season by N. K. Jemisin

All of these titles are assigned a number on a spreadsheet. I’ll roll a d20 every time I want to “pick” a title. ^_^

Things I’m looking forward to:

The ALA midwinter Conference is in Seattle this year, which means I get to go! I’ll get to see a best friend from high school, a best friend I met earlier this year through blogging, and a bunch of new folks! As a book blogger and a librarian I’m overwhelmed with the amount of opportunities that will be available to me in this one weekend and I can’t wait to give them all a go.

So there’s my plans for January! Is anyone else going to ALA? Maybe we could meet up!
