2020 Goals! Personal, reading, blogging, etc.

At the end of 2018 I wrote a post detailing some things I wanted to do in 2019, and I did… none of them. XD Grad school and mental health really kicked my butt this year. One of these things is now resolved… I’m a Master of Library and Information Science! My health is still a mess, but I’m hoping this will be the year things start coming together. One thing I hope will help me feel better is creating content. So, let’s look at my ideas from last year, whether I’ll be carrying them over, and new ideas I hope will help.

Last Year’s Goals

Weekly update posts: This was a great idea and it’s something I want to do one day, but I don’t think I’ll be getting there any time soon.

Favorites posts: I do want to get back to this! I’m not sure if it will be monthly like I tried to do early in 2019, but I think talking about things that make me happy is a good idea in general, and an especially good idea when I’m not feeling well. ^_^

Templates: I also want to do this. Anything that will make content creation easier for me will be wonderful. I already have some I made earlier in 2019, so that’s a start!

TBR jar: Nope! Like the weekly updates I might get back to this eventually, but I’m worried it will put too much pressure on reading right now. Additionally, all of my books are still packed up and will be until spring or summer, so if I do revive my TBR “jar” before then, I’ll be doing e-books and audiobooks only.

On that note, though, I do have an outdated list of my e-books and audiobooks (Kindle, Nook, Audible). If you’d like, feel free to peruse it and let me know if there’s anything I should prioritize!

Finish incomplete 2018 reads: I don’t actually have any incomplete reads this year that I want to keep working on, so I don’t have to worry about this goal!

New Goals

Saying goodbye to themes: Part of my blogging (or attempts to blog) in 2019 included themed header photos for each post. They aren’t that much work to make, but for now I’m going to stop worrying about them.

Write more posts on the computer: Now that both my wife and I are done with school, our laptop no longer has to have connotations of stress and due dates. I want to start working on nice things, fun things on our laptop. I’m hoping that reclaiming the MacBook will give me the energy and excitement to create more things.

All the platforms!: I have this idea that my blog and BookTube channel can feed off each other and support each other. I want to make videos, and to do so I need to plan some content. I’m hoping that I can write down those plans and turn them into blog posts, and then it will be easier to turn those thoughts, ideas, lists, etc. into videos. There will be some things better suited to blogs or to videos, but I’m hoping this method will work for at least some content.

And that’s it! Anyone else have goals for 2020? I’d love to read other folks’ posts or watch videos, maybe add to my goals. 🙂
